Windows 7 Ultimate. Previously, I had downloaded and installed Virtual PC 2007, *NOT* XP mode. Over the last year or two, I had created several different virtual Machines (.vhd/.vmc). I used those for a test lab, and also to test some downloaded programs that I didn't want to install on my main computer. Now, I've restored my main computer from an original system image I had. I want to download/install XP mode this time, but I don't know if I can then still open the various VM's I earlier created (and backed up to an external hard drive)? I mainly just want to look into each, see if there's any data I need to save, then delete those other VM's. The other VM's were created with virtual pc 2007. But I'm not sure I get the "VM Manager" or whatever its called to be able to open them. Someone told me that simply double clicking the .vmc of the old/other VM's (which is how I used to open them) would not work if XP mode is installed. Is that true?
Thanks, Steve
