I have install windows 7 on a computer with a singe hard disk  with 2 partitions (c: and d:)

I have install windows xp mode and create a single vm running xp. This vm uses a single virtual HDD (c:).

QUESTION 1: is there a way the VM to use a physical partition of the host machine as its c: drive?

Inside the vm i have installed an old xp application which runs fine from win7.

Question 2: The first time I run the XP application from win7 enviroment it takes time to load since i guess loads its vm enviroment. Is there a way to have the vm running automatically when i boot the physical machine?

The Xp application uses a database (installed inside the virtual HDD).

QUESTION 3: I need to take the xp database files a backup from win7 enviroment, Could you propose easy ways?

Last but not least.

From inside the Xp machine I see the 2 partitions of my physical machine.
How can i reffer to them using a script? I do not see them as a drive leter.

Thank to every one than will help me.
