Hi guys.
I have been using VPC since it came out for XP years ago. I am now on Windows 7 and run several XP/7 VPCs.
One problem I always run into is when I upgrade my host PC or OS and transfer over the VPC files it always seems to break the Integration Features for the user I originally created in the VPC. So, say I have a user named "user" in the VPC in XP when I first create it with Integration turned on and working. Then I get a new laptop and transfer over my VPCs include the VHD, and VMC files and try running it, Integration Features will not start - it always gives an error and says to reboot the VPC. I tried uninstalling and reinstall the integration tools but it makes no difference.
If I create a brand new user in the VPC and log in with that Integration works just find but this means I loose all my settings. I if edit Registry Profile path to point it back at the original users profile directory I get all my sittings back but the problem with Integration comes back.
I assume this has something to do with some credential saved in the user profile folder. I try deleting some of the more obvious things to no avail.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks
Ernie
