Windows Virtual PC very slow accessing a shared drive in the physical computer

Hi,

I have been using Windows Virtual PC in my Windows 7 Enterprise Sp1 64-bit machine to run an XP SP3 machine for many months.

Everything was fine until the Windows 2003 Server computer that was sharing a drive I use extensively died.

I moved the drive into my computer, shared it from there and remapped it in the Virtual machine.

Now, just going from the C disk to the shared disk in Windows Explorer takes more than 20 seconds.

The only other thing that changed is that 14 updates were installed when I shut down to add the drive. The updates are:

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2718704)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656368)
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - June 2012 (KB890830)
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2667402)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2686827)

Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2685939)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2699779)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2677070)

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2699988)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
