Hello
(W7 Pro x64) I was asked to post this here rather than on the MSCommunity Forum. I wanted to completely remove my installed (and working) virtual PC / XP mode and regain the VHD allocated space on my HD.
Before I started (after backing up):
- In W7 my C:Drive 238GB HD showed 15GB free space (note, only one HD shown and listed as C:drive. No virtual drive visible with ANY program inc 3rd party)
- In XP Mode using windows explorer, my XPC:Drive showed up as 127GB with 110GB free space
I could not "uninstall" XP mode as it did not show up in Programs and Features (came pre-installed on the Dell laptop). Asking for help, MSForums indicated I needed to delete the XP mode files and uninstall the virtual PC update. I did both and after the reboot - W7 C:Drive had only gained 17GB free space (size of files deleted) - so, the original 127GB virtual HD partition must still be there. I say "must" because I cannot 'see' this virtual HD it in any programs, inc 3rd party.
What am I missing here that would allow me to regain this approx 110GB on my primary C:Drive?
Many thanks for any help.
